Overnight closures are coming to a busy stretch of Interstate 25 and Montgomery Boulevard as crews move forward on a bridge-widening project in Albuquerque.
Construction crews will set beams over I-25 for two nights starting Jan. 27, requiring full overnight closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., according to project information. Northbound and southbound I-25 will close between the Montgomery Boulevard off-ramps and on-ramps during that time.

Traffic on I-25 will detour onto the Pan American Frontage Road at Montgomery Boulevard, cross Montgomery Boulevard and re-enter the freeway using the on-ramps. Montgomery Boulevard will also close in both directions between Culture Drive and the northbound Pan American Frontage Road.
Drivers traveling east or west on Montgomery Boulevard will detour to Comanche Road using Carlisle Boulevard and Jefferson Street east of I-25 and Culture Drive and Edith Boulevard west of I-25.

As construction continues, drivers should also expect recurring overnight closures of the northbound and southbound on- and off-ramps at I-25 and Comanche Road. Those closures will run from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and are needed to complete work safely. Detours will be marked.
The speed limit through the work zone is 55 mph. Drivers should plan for delays, allow extra time and follow posted signs during overnight hours.
