In the Dec. 29 issue of the Independent, we incorrectly stated that Darius Semore Welch, a suspect in the killing of Brian Enright in Edgewood, was the victim’s son-in-law. At the time of publication, law enforcement was not clear on the familial relationship. Police now say that Welch was the stepson of Enright.

Plane Crashes Near Moriarty
Moriarty Fire Dept. responded to single engine plane crash Tuesday morning. One person was in critical condition. Initial arriving units reported a single engine private aircraft that had gone off of the runway with one occupant out of the aircraft and fuel leaking from the aircraft.
