Members of the High Desert Amateur Radio Club (HDARC) are conducting a “Ham Radio in the Park” event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, at the Town of Edgewood’s Venus Park Pavilion. Past, current, and future ham radio operators are welcome. Come learn a new skill!

Organizers say its a unique opportunity to see what the hobby is all about to include Morse Code, emergency communications, contests, handheld radios, or even contacting someone on the other side of the world. For more information on the club or starting your own station, visit www.nm5hd.org/edgewood or contact Tom Russell at n5atr@arrl.net, or (505) 400-2686.

Come on out this Saturday 10am-2pm and find out more about Ham radio!
Let’s learn something new!
I’m really excited about this event I’ve always been curious about ham radio and this seems like the perfect opportunity to learn more. Looking forward to meeting the members of the High Desert Amateur Radio Club and maybe even getting my own license someday. Thanks for organizing this!
Great initiative I’ve been interested in emergency communications for a while now, and this event sounds like it will cover exactly what I want to learn. I’ll definitely be there on Saturday to check it out. Thanks for sharing the details, Tom!
The club will provide a great opportunity for both beginners and experienced operators to share knowledge, participate in events, and enhance our emergency communication capabilities.
