Bernalillo County is partnering with Uber to offer discounted rides during Labor Day weekend as part of an anti-impaired driving campaign spanning three New Mexico counties.

The initiative provides residents with up to $10 credit per trip for a maximum of two Uber rides from 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 29, through 2 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Users can access the discount by entering the promo code NMLD25 under the vouchers section of the Uber app. The program serves residents of Bernalillo, Sandoval and Santa Fe counties, with 2,500 total discounted trips available regionwide.

Bernalillo County is a key partner in the “Take A Ride On Us” campaign, which encourages residents to use ride-sharing services rather than driving under the influence during the holiday weekend.

The promotional credit applies exclusively to transportation and cannot be used for food delivery through Uber Eats. Gratuities are not included in the discount.

Additional program supporters include Cumulus Radio, Santa Fe County DWI programs, Central Valley DWI, Sandler-Weller Personal Injury Lawyers and Sandia Resort & Casino.

The multi-county collaboration addresses heightened concerns about impaired driving during holiday weekends, when fatal traffic crashes involving alcohol typically surge.

Participants must activate the voucher code before booking rides to ensure the discount applies. Credits are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
