Bernalillo County has awarded grant funding to 19 recognized neighborhood associations for community projects designed to strengthen local neighborhoods and promote civic engagement.

The Neighborhood Grant Program, administered annually by the county’s Planning & Development Services Department, provides up to $7,500 for large projects and $2,500 for small projects. Recipients will use the funding for events, murals, educational programs and community gardens.

“Community engagement is a vital part of Planning and Development within Bernalillo County, and we are honored to administer this impactful grant program for another year,” Planning & Development Services Director Nick Hamm said. “We look forward to collaborating with these neighborhoods and seeing their projects come to life in the coming months.”

The county received a record number of applications during the fiscal year 2026 application period, officials said. Each funded project demonstrated how it would support local engagement, safety and development within neighborhoods and the broader county.
