The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday afternoon that it is investigating two deaths Sunday in Cedar Crest as a murder-suicide.

BCSO announced in a press release that a Sunday morning welfare check led to the discovery of two dead bodies on Mulberry Lane.

The deceased were identified as a 29-year-old male and a 34-year-old female, according to the sheriff’s office.

BCSO gave an update Monday on the incident, which is now being considered a murder-suicide.

“Currently, detectives are investigating the incident as a potential murder-suicide,” BCSO said in a release. “The exact circumstances surrounding the deaths are still under investigation, with final determinations pending the completion of a report by the Office of the Medical Investigator.”
