Kevin Hendricks, a seasoned veteran of Albuquerque metro area newsrooms, has been appointed as the editor of The Sandoval Signpost, Corrales Comment and The Independent News.

Hendricks has spent the past 17+ years working in newsrooms with the Albuquerque Journal and Rio Rancho Observer. Hendricks was born and raised in Albuquerque and has lived in Rio Rancho since 2019. Heโ€™ll be leading a newsroom team covering Sandoval County, Corrales and the East Mountains as a part of the Ctrl+P Publishing.

โ€œIโ€™m so excited to work with this great team and to help continue the excellent coverage and journalism at all three papers,โ€ Hendricks said. โ€œIโ€™m very happy for this opportunity and I canโ€™t wait to get to work.โ€

Hendricks has spent the past two years covering everything Sandoval County-related from lengthy commission meetings to business, politics to animals โ€” his favorite.

โ€œBeing the editor of a community newspaper is the best job in journalism,โ€ says Publisher Pat Davis. โ€œKevin is no stranger to a lot of our readers. For almost two decades, his byline has been telling New Mexicoโ€™s stories from the bleachers on the sports beat to the front row of late night county commission meetings. We are incredibly excited to have him at the helm.โ€

Pat Davis is the founder and publisher of nm.news. In a prior life he served as an Albuquerque City Councilor.
