The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was found dead near the Tijeras exit on I-40.
BCSO spokesperson Jayme Fuller said that at 2:30 p.m. July 23, deputies responded to reports of a body lying in the grass shoulder of the eastbound lanes of the freeway. Deputies confirmed the deceased was male.
According to BCSO, there were no obvious signs of trauma that would help to determine the man’s cause of death. The Office of the Medical Investigator arrived on the scene and after their observations, could not determine the cause of death.
BCSO has deemed the death “suspicious” and an investigation is ongoing. No identification has been made.
